Corona round tables in Lower Austria

The Educational Institute of the Freedom Party of Austria held 18 Corona round tables in Lower Austria over the past few months. A total of around 400 citizens took part in these publicly accessible educational evenings.

The round tables provided a forum for exchange, questions and discussion – driven by an interest in examining the events of recent years from different perspectives.

Thematic focus

The focus was on topics of central political importance:

• The evaluation of Corona measures and their impact on society, fundamental rights and freedom,
• the consequences for the healthcare system,
• the role of the EU and international organisations,
• questions of sovereignty, political decision-making and accountability structures,
• considerations on alternative strategies for future crisis situations,
• the importance of personal responsibility, transparency and democratic freedom.

The high level of participation shows how strong the need for political debate and analysis still is. As an educational institution, the Educational Institute of the Freedom Party of Austria sees it as a mission to create suitable spaces for this and to promote civic dialogue.
